About me

 

My name is Tony Ian White, and I’m a qualified Integrative Counsellor & Talking Therapist (Dip. HE), Anxiety UK Approved Therapist, Integrative & Evidence-Based Clinical Hypnotherapist (PDHyp, PCHyp, GQHP, GHSC/GHR, CNHC), Accredited Advanced Master Hypnotherapist (IICT), and NLP Practitioner and Master NLP Practitioner (PNLP, MPNLP). I’m fascinated with brief strategic therapies, have advanced level training in Direct and Indirect approaches to Hypnotherapy (Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, Acceptance & Cobuddha_p1mmitment Therapy, Advanced Age Regression, etc), hold a Certificate of Higher Education in Counselling & Counselling Skills from Birkbeck, University of London (Cert. HE), and a Diploma of Higher Education in Integrative Counselling (Dip. HE), completing additional Higher Education at University through a BA (Hons) Counselling (Integrative Therapy) course, covering all four major schools of Psychology, and five comparative approaches of Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural, Systemic, and Transpersonal models, including facilitator training with the James Nayler Foundation and their Emotion Education method of change-work (Psychoanalysis & Gestalt). My learning experiences cover Mindfulness Meditation, Buddhist Philosophy and Psychology, having studied Mahayana Buddhism with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT), and looked into ‘The Nature of Being’ with the Concord Institute utilising Macrobiotics, Meditation and Zen. I’ve studied Spirituality, involving the practice of Taoist Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Meditation, including Hindu Yogasana (postures) and Pranayama (breath-work), as well as Zen practices and Meditations for over 30 years, plus ‘energy healing work’ as a Usui and Tibetan attuned Reiki Master Practitioner. Through former employment within social services, the NHS, and the voluntary sector, I’ve worked in adult mental health services, in addition to working with adults, children and families with learning disabilities, alongside people from excluded minority groups, coupled with a wealth of diverse life experience, personally.

I am also an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist providing therapeutic support to the charity’s members and partner beneficiaries. I am subject to Anxiety UK’s regular monitoring of my professional qualifications, supervision, continual professional development, insurance and professional body membership in addition to complying with the ethical framework and professional standards set down by my registered governing body.
